SPECIAL ABILITIES

ADVANTAGES:

The Star Sapphire's powers are vast. She seems equipped with an arsenal of weapons, including a replicate Zamaron star sapphire, but their origins are largely unknown. She also seems to have a variety of personal powers, through whether they stem from herself or her personal armament is also unknown. She is also able to access the memories of the Zamorans regarding the Star Sapphire gem, such as the experiences of other wearers.

As with her powers, the limitations of the Star Sapphire are unclear. Psychologically, she has displayed a bizarre preoccupation with gender, suspected of reflecting a pathological fear of men. She also has a less than accurate grasp of the variations in physics between dimensions. She has been foiled in both of her recorded cases primarily by her own over-confidence.

POWERS:

Star Sapphire can use her gem of power to fly and to hurl blasts of force nearly equal to the power of Green Lantern's ring. Moreover, the Sapphire bestows upon her a certain amount of invulnerability and allows her to survive in airless space.

Flight: Star Sapphire can fly thanks to her tiara.

Repelling Ray: Star Sapphire can fire a repelling ray.

Mind Over matter: Star Sapphire has the power of mind over matter and the ability to create objects out of thin air.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Assessment: You can tell the difficulty of many tasks and judge the abilities of others. If you take a full exchange to analyze a person or task, you can learn the difficulty of a task or one ability or intensity score about an individual.

Computer Operation: The art of computer operation. While you can't program or design a computer, Character X does know how to use a computer efficiently.

Athletics: Playing a sport(s), including, but not limited to, baseball, basketball, cricket, football, jai alai, lacrosse, rugby, soccer, softball, tennis, various track and field events, and volleyball. You also have knowledge of injuries and first aid and may make a challenging Agility action to restore a card or the value of a random card in Health to a combatant who fell unconscious during the previous exchange.

Boating: Piloting any waterbound vehicle, from a jetski to an ocean liner. You can reduce the difficulty to avoid rapids, spot land, build rafts, and other life-saving tasks while on water.

Combat: Aerial: Fighting in the sky. You can use Agility instead of Strength to attack while flying. You can also use Agility instead of Intellect for declaration order during aerial combat.

Combat: Marksmanship: Modern personal firearms of all types-handguns, rifles, shotguns, submachine guns, including laser, stun, and concussion varieties.

Combat: Thrown Weapons: Throwing any easily hefted object (though "easily" varies depending on Strength). This skill can turn playing cards and feathers into lethal projectiles and is good for tossing grenades.

Disguise: Making yourself look like someone or something else.

Driving: Piloting any landbound vehicle, from a motorcycle to an eighteen-wheeler.

Equestrian: Riding horses and other four-legged beasts, with or without wings. You can use your Agility to

Fast Exit: You can attack physically and move to firing distance before any foe can complete an action that affects you. But make sure you've properly analyzed the situation, because if even one of the opponents has an Intellect higher than your Agility, any of your opponents can redirect actions toward you, and you can't dodge any of them.

Observation: The use of all sensory powers with Willpower trump suits, plus a general ability to tell when something is interesting or out of place.

Piloting: Working knowledge of most 20th century aircraft. Even in a small spaceship, you have an intuitive understanding of which flashing light is the accelerator and which is the brake.

Repair: Repair and modification of items, but not the building of new items.

Resist Domination: You reduce the difficulty to avoid or resist mental attacks by one level.

Seduction: The art of using ones sensuality and sexuality to manipulate another.

Survival: Dealing with the rigors of outdoor life. You can use this skill any time you are faced with natural challenges, such as frigid cold, desert heat, starvation, and loss of direction.

Taunting: Cracking wise in combat, to the detriment of easily irritated opponents. If you spend at least one exchange talking up a storm (and you must roleplay it), you can attempt an average Willpower (Willpower) action to cause an opponent to attack immediately. When so enraged, the opponent cannot make surprise attacks or use any skills to modify the difficulty of the attack.

HISTORY

As Ferris Aircraft's Vice President, Carol Ferris, the only child of aerospace mogul Carl Ferris, hired Hal Jordan and quickly found herself attracted to the fearless test pilot, who was secretly the superhero Green Lantern. However, the young couple’s romance quickly became complicated when Carol took over the company from her father at about the same time as she fell under the power of an evil cosmic parasite known as 'the Star Sapphire'. The parasite fed off of the her emotions and often pushed her into situations which would produce strong emotional reactions within Carol; This occasionally included inducing hallucinations and distorting how she perceived and experienced the world around her. Because of this, Carol began to fall in love with The Green Lantern, as well as Hal Jordan, entering in to a relationship which was similar in many ways to that of the Batman and Catwoman in which they flirted with one another even while trying to kill or apprehend the other.

There relationship came to an end when Hal Jordan finally succumbed to madness becoming the being known as Parallax. Since then the Carol and the Sapphire have drifted from one situation to another trying to find a way to free the former Green Lantern from the madness he has been consumed by.
