PERSONALITY:

According to Infinite Crisis writer Geoff Johns, "Superboy-Prime's really frustrated with what his life has turned into and, unfortunately, that frustration is going to be taken out on the world." He also mentioned that "He's been wanting to show the world what he can do, because he barely had a chance to be Superboy. He was Superboy a little bit before Crisis on Infinite Earths and then—BOOM!—his world was wiped out and that was it."[32]

When asked how Superboy-Prime's battle with the Teen Titans got out of control so quickly, editor Dan Didio said, "Superboy is a teenager raised in isolation, with raging hormones, a huge chip on his shoulder and the powers of a god. He never learned how to keep his powers or emotions in check, so when confronted, the situation escalated and he had no idea on how to defuse it. Think of a situation where you, as a teenager, lost your temper. Now imagine you have the power to crush a planet. Do you think that situation would have ended differently? This is the moment where Superboy-Prime crosses the point of no return and becomes the greatest threat the universe will ever know."

After the publication of Infinite Crisis #5, Johns said at the Wizard World LA convention: "That took me a long time to break, because I thought Superboy-Prime needed to view the world so narrow. You can see how his world view is so narrow and so black and white and realistically that is not going to work anymore." Originally, Superboy-Prime started out coming into Crisis as corrupted and evil, but the take on the character didn’t work for Johns. "I said to Dan I think Prime does it by accident and is horrified. That panel where’s he’s looking at his hands and goes 'I didn’t mean to do it,' that for me is the entire story for Superboy-Prime. He didn’t mean to do this stuff. What’s worse... making a mistake and fessing up to it or doing something bad and saying ‘You made me do it?’ Superboy-Prime is a very simplistic character who has become very complex."[33]

When asked if Superboy-Prime was irredeemable or not, Johns replied "I think it’s a split. You saw his reaction when he did what he did in Infinite Crisis, but at that same time, he’s walked over that line. Does he think he can walk back? Should he? Does this universe even matter to him anymore? Is it the fact that, now that he’s got a big dent on his car, another one won’t matter? If he’s already on that path, is he going to continue on it, or is he going to really try and work and go back?"

GOALS:

To claim an Earth as his own where he can be the only hero, even if he has to kill every last hero on every last Earth to do this.

SPECIAL ABILITIES

ADVANTAGES:

Kryptonian physique: Kal-El may appear to be human, but physiology he differs greatly due to the nature of his Kryptonian D.N.A.

Kryptonian physique: Superboy may appear to be human, but physiology he differs greatly due to the alien nature of his D.N.A. While appearing human on the outside, Superboy 's physiology vastly superior to that of an average Terran and physically capable of feats of strength, speed and endurance which are beyond the comprehension of any terrain.

POWERS:

Flight: Primecan fly through air and space without any apparent means of propulsion. This is the most desired Power in the history of the world. He can move at speeds up to 250 mph.

Rank: 52

Hyper-Breath: Blowing really hard to knock people over. This feat can be performed only by those with an 11+ Strength. You must make an average Strength (Strength) action, and those you succeed against are knocked back and lose their action for the exchange.

Rank: 52

Hyper-Balance: Primepossesses the ability to achieve a state of perfect equilibrium in any position imaginable. He seems able to adjust his position by instinct, enabling histo balance himself on virtually any object, no matter how small or narrow. He has developed a unique fighting style that makes full use of his agility, strength, and equilibrium.

Rank: 52

Hyper-Digging: While burrowing is not Prime's preferred mode of transportation, when compared to running or flying, he is still capable of travelling swiftly through earth and rock by burrowing a tunnel at Power rank speed (land movement rate). Normally any tunnels burrowed by his collapse within a few minutes of Prime's passaging. The exception is the tunnel within 10 feet of Prime's current location. This allows his to occasionally stop. A tunnel never collapses on his, unless a higher Intensity force is applied. Note that a side-effect Hyper-Digging is that when digging Prime's Strength and Endurance are increased as needed that he will not tire.

Rank: 52

Hyper-Endurance: Primecapability of sustaining prolonged periods of physically stressful effort (aerobic or anaerobic) without/while only exhibiting any noticeable signs of exhaustion or duress. In the case of Prime, 'long' is defined as being equal to the Body rank times the rank of Hyper-endurance. Thus Primecould run at full tilt for

Rank: 52

Hyper-Hearing: Primecan detect extremely faint sounds and unusual frequencies. He can identify objects by the sounds they emit. Because of the sensitivity of his hearing, he is more vulnerable to sonic attacks (which receive a +1RS against ).

Rank: 52

Hyper-Leaping: Primecan jump great distances. By repeated leaps, Primecan rapidly cover large distances. The distance Primecan cover is equal to his Strength rank +1 rank. If a lower rank is initially rolled, it must be raised to this level. This is the distances Primecan safely leap. Innate safeguards in this Power enable Primeto safely land so as not to injure or break a leg for example. The effect is the same on Primeas if he were a Normal Human making a 2 foot leap up or across or descending 3 feet.

The effects on the area Primelands on might not be the same as if a normal jump occurred. Consider that the Hulk splinters the pavement when he lands. To determine what sort of effects occur when Primelands, it is with a force equal to that of five times his own weight suddenly drops on the surface in question. The actual landspeed varies with the angle of the leaps.

Physical burdens do not decrease Prime's speed, although they might decrease his control. Anything Primeis carrying is also protected by the innate safeguards against damage; Primeacts as a shock-absorber.

Rank: 52

Hyper-Olfactory: Primecan detect the presence of minute traces of substances and accurately identify them by smell. This Power is continually functioning.

Rank: 52

Hyper-Speed: Primecan run at Power rank speed for extended amounts of time. The Power has the side-effect of raising the Ability rank number of Endurance by this Power's rank number. It includes protection to wind resistance and windburn; this protection extends to anything Primeis carrying. Prime's lungs are modified to breath high velocity air. The last benefit can be crucial if Primeis capable of Remarkable speeds or better.

If Prime stumbles, he continues on a ballistic trajectory until he regains his footing or rolls to a halt. To cut down on the chance of this, the Power increase Prime's reaction time to be able cope with impending problems. The increased reaction time decreases the relative speed of any other moving object. Prime's Power rank number decreases the perceived speed of the other object. For example, Quicksilver's Shift X speed lets hisperceive a bullet traveling at 600 mph as if it were traveling only 15 mph.

This side-effect enables Primeto dodge or even catch things like bullets and missiles.

Rank: 52

Hyper-Strength: This is the iconic super power of a meta being, representing not only Prime's raw physical force, but also it is the physical manifestation of his ability to assert himself over another. As such, Primeis capable of bench pressing a maximum of , or to put it another way, He could bench the .

Rank: 52

Hyper-Taste: Primecan detect the presence of minute traces of substances and accurately identify them by taste. This Power is continually functioning; his has learned to ignore unpleasant smells. If he loses his ability to mask out nasty odors, he'll be so distracted (and possibly sickened) by the intruding odors that he loses 1 endurance rank per day the condition persists.

Rank: 52

Hyper-Touch: Primepossesses an Enhanced sense of touch that permits histo detect extremely fine surface details and to identify materials by their surface "feel."

Rank: 52

Invulnerability: This represents the ultimate combination of Resistances and Body Armor. Eagle is immune to any physical harm, equal to his power rank's limit. The immunity includes the following resistances: fire, heat, cold, electricity, radiation, corrosives, disease, poison, brute force, sonics, and kinetic bolts. The rank of the Invulnerability reduces the rank of the attack form. Thus if he were struck with an attack value of 15, his invulnerability rank of 12 would reduce the damage done to hisby his rank of 12, thus he would only suffer an attack of 3 points to his Body.

Rank: 52

Regeneration: Should Primebe hurt, his enhanced physiology can rapidly recover from any wound or injury. Cuts quickly close and disease symptoms disappear. He heals at an accelerated rate equal to the his endurance rank times the normal amount of time which might be normally required to heal. With time, He can regrow large areas of lost tissue, especially severed limbs, even lost limbs or organs It is not known if He can regenerate after death.

Rank: 52

Self-Sustenance: Primecan survive indefinitely without consuming air, water, or food. Bodily wastes are internally recycled back into useable materials. Normally Primewould not need to replenish himself when his power reached its limit. He merely resumes normal consumption habits (breathe normally, eat a light snack, etc.). This is the permanent form of the power. The temporary form requires Primeto consume mass quantities at the expiration of the Power. ("That's the fifteenth steak you've eaten, Fred. How long did you say it's been since you ate last?") The required intake is one-quarter what Primewould normally have consumed during the time he was abstaining. Primecan raise his Power rank +1rs by opting for the temporary form.

Rank: 52

Vision Microscopic: Prime's eyes can focus on extremely minute targets, objects too small for normal vision to perceive. This Power functions in two stages. The first is light magnification; Prime's eyes function as normal microscopes. This allows histo see things as small as chromosomes. Beyond this level, light no longer carries iPrimes. The second stage of this Power is a variation of Clairvoyance that permits his to see miniature, rather than distant, targets.

Rank: 52

Vision Telescopic: Prime's eyes can focus on extremely distant targets, objects too far away for the unaided eye to perceive. his eyes function as normal binoculars. This allows histo see things regardless of distant so long as they aren't obstructed by the curvature of the planet, light pollution, etc.

Rank: 52

Vision Thermal:

Rank: 52

Vision Heat: Commonly referred to as 'Heat Vision', Primecan project tremendous amounts of concentrated radiation or 'heat' that is not necessarily accompanied by light or flame by accelerating molecular motion of a target through various means. He can project these energies from his eyes at planetary distances. This 'heat' radiation can be in any form, ranging from ultraviolet light, x-rays, and alpha and beta particles, gamma rays, to the ever-popular "cosmic rays." This permits Primehas total control over his own inherent radioactivity and possesses automatic/natural safe-guards that prevent hisfrom fatally contaminating the any unintended areas each time he uses his Power. Primeto do rank level effects over target endurance rank.

Rank: 52

Vision X-Ray: This is commonly called "X-ray vision" but is not actually based on the emission of X-rays. Primecan see through any solid with the exception of lead; the effect is as if the obscuring material were transformed to clear glass. If this Power is interfered with by outside forces, Primemay perceives everything as a transparent outline.

Rank: 52

Vision Ultraviolet:Primecan see ultraviolet light. Because UV light isn't as readily absorbed by water as normal light, this Power enables Primeto see clearly through fog and at greater distance in the water (+1rs). Primecan also see the dim light given off by radioactive materials. Primecannot actually "see in the dark" but only if UV light is present. The effect is the same when seen by normal people. Primehas an increased risk of being blinded by strong UV sources, like black lights and radiation (-2rs).

Rank: 52

Time Travel: Primecan travel in time to reach any point in the past, present or future. The maximum range He can reach varies depending on which direction they are traveling. Travel into the past is easier because it already exists from the their point of view. The maximum range is equal to the Power rank number times 1000 years. Travel into the future is harder (at least, if you're planning a return trip). The maximum range into the future is equal to the Power rank number times 10 years.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Acrobatics: Gymnastic movement. Superboy Prime can tumble, swing from ropes, walk across thin beams, and leap through windows. he reduce the difficulty when trying to lessen damage from falls and dodging attacks, if he have sufficient room to move acrobatically. (+1R to Dex)

Ambidexterity: Superboy Prime can use tools and weapons with either hand at no penalty (normally +1 level of difficulty for using his off-hand). (+1R to Dex)

Assessment: Superboy Prime can tell the difficulty of many tasks and judge the abilities of others. If he take a full exchange to analyze a person or task, he can learn the difficulty of a task or one ability or intensity score about an individual. (+1R to Int)

Astronomy: The science of the stars. Superboy Prime can use this skill to plot a course through the solar system. (+1R to Int)

Athletics: Playing a sport(s), including, but not limited to, baseball, basketball, cricket, football, jai alai, lacrosse, rugby, soccer, softball, tennis, various track and field events, and volleyball. he also have knowledge of injuries and first aid and may make a challenging Agility action to restore a card or the value of a random card in Health to a combatant who fell unconscious during the previous exchange. (+1R to Dex)

Combat Style (Aerial): Fighting in the sky. Superboy Prime can use Agility instead of Strength to attack while flying. he can also use Agility instead of Intellect for declaration order during aerial combat. (+1R to Dex)

Combat Style (Brawling): This skill lets Superboy Prime inflict damage when using fists, claws, teeth, or any other natural attack. If he reduce a foe to 0 cards or 0 Health this way, the foe goes comatose. These actions (bites, eye gouges, kidney punches, and so on) are generally frowned upon in heroic circles. (+1R to Dex, Str +2R dam)

Combat Style (Streetfighting): This skill lets Superboy Prime use the environment to there advantage when involved in combat situations. If he reduces a foe to 0 body this way, the foe goes comatose. These actions (bites, eye gouges, kidney punches, and so on) are generally frowned upon in heroic circles. (+1R to Dex, Str +2R dam)

Combat Style (Wrestling): he are proficient in the applying of holds. It includes familiar types of wrestling as well as the sumo forms of the art. (+2R to Strn)

Combat Style (Underwater): Fighting underwater. he may use Agility instead of Strength to attack while underwater. he can use Agility instead of Intellect for declaration order during underwater combat. In addition, when trying to dodge attacks, under water, he can reduce the difficulty by one level. (+1R to Dex)

Computers (Usage): The skill of being efficient when using a computer. he can operate apple computers, write scripts, and effectively waste hours a day on the internet. (+1R to Int + Computers General, Hacking and Usage scores if possessed)) Note: On Earth23, the dominant computer system is Apple/Mac, not Windows.

Demolitions: Blowing things up with volatile explosives, generally smaller than a cruise missile. (+1R to Dex)

Direction Sense: he are never lost, always know where north is, and can orient hisself easily without any external cues. ( +1R Will)

Espionage: The art of spying. he have been trained in espionage and infiltration. he notice small clues, operate spy equipment, and tell when someone is on his trail. (+1R to Int)

Fast Exit: Superboy Prime can attack physically and move to firing distance before any foe can complete an action that affects he. But make sure he've properly analyzed the situation, because if even one of the opponents has an Intellect higher than his Agility, any of his opponents can redirect actions toward he, and he can't dodge any of them. (+1R to Dex)

Gadgetry: Disassembling something mechanical in order to make something else. This skill reduces the difficulty of the creation of any item if a suitable item is available for dismantling. (+1R to Dex)

Intimidation: Terrifying someone into doing or saying what he want. Make an average Willpower (Willpower) action against an individual, and if successful, the individual does what he want, at least temporarily. ( +1R Will)

Leadership: Keeping a team together and focused on goals. If a leader makes an average Willpower action, all allied characters gain +1 on all actions. But once this inspiration is triggered, if the leader stops leading (leaves or is knocked out, for example), all allies suffer 1 on all actions until the leader returns.

Manipulation: Getting people to do what Superboy Prime want without letting them know it. This includes scheming, seduction, and other such machinations. ( +1R Will)

Negotiation: The art of resolving disputes and/or reaching agreements between two or more parties. (+1R to Int)

Observation: The use of all sensory powers with Willpower trump suits, plus a general ability to tell when something is interesting or out of place.

Repair: Repair and modification of items, but not the building of new items. (+1R to Dex)

Resist Domination: Superboy Prime reduce the difficulty to avoid or resist mental attacks by one level. (+1R Will)

Stealth: The art and science of avoiding detection. Superboy Prime is awareness of their body, of their body's movements and most importantly of it's limits. This understanding allows them to move with the utmost care and silence, and also to freeze stock-still in a concealing shadow when necessary in an effort to avoid detection. Likewise, he can also prowl about rooftops and the like; high-technology electronic systems and some superpowers and heightened senses, however, will negate this ability. (+1R to Dex, +1R Int)

Streetwise: The art of living and surviving on the mean streets. Superboy Prime knows how to handle themselves on the streets and when dealing with low lifes and undesirables. he knows who to or not to approach, how to identify gang signs, etc.

Super-Physiology: The science of super powers. This specialized skill allows he to (roughly) gauge a superbeing's power intensities and work to reduce or enhance those power levels over time. (+1R to Int)

Survival: Dealing with the rigors of outdoor life. Superboy Prime can use this skill any time he are faced with natural challenges, such as frigid cold, desert heat, starvation, and loss of direction. ( +1R Will)

Tactics: If Superboy Prime take a full exchange to analyze an ongoing or anticipated combat situation and are able to share his insights with allies, he and all his allies gain a +4 to all actions in their first exchange and a +2 to all actions in their second exchange. Not all allies need to attack at the same time to gain this benefit some may hold themselves in reserve and still receive the bonuses on their first exchange, rather than on the exchange that others first engage in combat. (+1R to Int)

Taunting: Cracking wise in combat, to the detriment of easily irritated opponents. If Superboy Prime spend at least one exchange talking up a storm (and he must roleplay it), he can attempt an average Willpower (Willpower) action to cause an opponent to attack immediately. When so enraged, the opponent cannot make surprise attacks or use any skills to modify the difficulty of the attack. ( +1R Will)

HISTORY

Superboy-Prome was born Kal-El, son of Jor-El of the planet Krypton-Prime. When Kal-El was still a toddler, his scientist father made a grave discovery. He learned that a massive solar flare from Krypton's red sun threatened to engulf their home world, ultimately destroying it. Jor-El brought his concerns to the Kryptonian science council, but rather than offer solutions, they politicized the pending travesty and locked themselves in committee.

In the meantime, Jor-El labored to find a way to save the people of Krypton. Working alongside his scientist wife, Lara, they developed a technology which would enable them to teleport samples of living tissue (weighing less than fifty pounds) across intergalactic distances. He presented his transportation device to the science council, but it was too late. Krypton was already beginning to suffer from the effects of the intense solar radiation. As Krypton shook in its death-throes, Jor-El placed his son inside of the teleportation device and transported him across the universe.

Kal-El rematerialized on the planet Earth. In a small New England sea coast town, Jerry and Naomi Kent found the kryptonian infant while enjoying a hike through the forest. They soon adopted him, naming him Clark after Naomi's own fatehr, despite the fact that Clark Kent was likewise the name of a popular comic book hero known on Earth-Prime as Superman.

Unlike his namesake however, Clark Kent grew up without the benefit of super-powers. His classmates at school would tease him and refer to him as Superboy. However, Clark took the ribbing in stride and soon cultivated a small circle of friends.

As Clark grew older, he became romantically involved with a fellow student named Laurie Lemmon. One evening, Clark, Laurie and several other friends decided to attend a costumed beach party. Being of good humor, Clark donned a Superboy costume similar to that worn by the fictional comic book hero. They drove down to Hampton Beach and sat by the ocean waiting to catch sight of Halley’s Comet.

Suddenly, a tremendous tidal wave rose up on the beachhead threatening to flood the small hamlet. At that same moment, a cosmic vortex opened up above them discharging the Earth-One super-hero known as Superman. At that critical moment, a bizarre transformation took hold of Clark. The physical characteristics of his Kryptonian heritage manifested for the first time and he discovered that he was gifted with flight and super-strength among other abilities.

Superman quickly introduced himself to his alternate Earth counterpart, but there was little time for pleasantries. He gave Superboy a crash course in the use of his powers and together, they were able to divert the course of the deadly tidal wave.

With the immediate disaster abated, the newly crowned Superboy aided Superman in returning him to his proper world. He followed Superman through the cosmic vortex to Earth-One. Little did Superboy realize that he would never again see his adopted world.

The multiversal catastrophe known as the Crisis on Infinite Earths began as a deadly wave of anti-matter consumed one parallel dimension after another. Know calling himself Superboy-Prime, he aided heroes from hundreds of different worlds, but none of them were able to save his home dimension of Earth-Prime from destruction.

The Crisis finally culminated with the destruction of the multiverse. In its place a solitary static universe came into being with only one version of the planet Earth. Superboy-Prime remained as the sole survivor of not only his birth world, but his adopted world as well. He united with an aging version of Superman from the late Earth-Two as well as his wife, Lois Lane. Along with Alexander Luthor of Earth-Three, they traveled into the antimatter universe with the hope of forging a quiet, peaceful existence for themselves in what they thought would be a paradise realm.

In the paradise dimension Superboy-Prime started to seclude himself from the others. He used the crystals to watch events from his life on Earth-Prime. His favourite memory was his birthday party, which he watched over and over. Superboy-Prime started to become frustrated and angry all the time. He reached out to Superman, but Lois's health drew most of his attention. Luthor used this opportunity to persuade Superboy-Prime to help him return to reality. Luthor began manipulating the young man by showing him the deaths of all those he loved on Earth Prime. Luthor had complete control over this "heaven" and was purposely showing him only the bad of the new earth, none of the good. Superboy-Prime was hesitant until he overheard Superman say, "I wish this world would let him grow up. He'll never be Superman here". Alex also showed him his parents and his girlfriend Laurie in the new Earth dying in an accident. This caused his grip on reality and his morals to change.

However the paradise realm into which they escaped proved to be no paradise. The sole occupants of this dimension, they soon fell victims to their memories, hopes, desires, and individual sense of loss which eventually drove Superboy-Prime insane with desire for his homeworld, or a world which he could call home. Superboy, Superman, Lois Lane and Alexander Luthor broke free of their paradise realm and returned to Earth of the Post-Crisis reality. The weight of the destruction of his core reality finally took its toll on Superboy and drove him insane.

Once on Earth, Superboy-Prime tore a swath of destruction through that world that saw the deaths of Bushido, Impulse, Pantha, Superboy, Superman of Earth Two, Wildebeest, and at least 32 Green Lanterns. Countless other heroes suffered grievous wounds in battle with Superboy-Prime until he was finally imprisoned inside a Green Lantern generated "Sciencell" near what is alternately described as a red sun or a Red Sun-Eater, constantly being guarded by the Green Lantern Corps. Members of the Corps were often assigned to "Prime Duty" as punishment. While in prison, he carved a bloody "S" on his chest using his fingernail, saying that he had always found a way out (referring, presumably, to his escape from the Speed Force and his future prison).

Unfortunately Superboy-Prime was somehow freed, presumably by a strike force Sinestro Corps who turned the red sun to yellow, presumably thereby restoring his powers. Once again free, he resumed his interstellar tantrum, carving a path of destruction from one corner of the universe to another; Successfully defeating Superman, Power Girl and Supergirl all at the same time as well as many other high powered heroes in his quest to revive Earth-Prime.

Recently, he has turned his attentions to some of the other possible Earths with the hopes of remaking one of them in to a new Earth-Prime.
