PERSONALITY:

Personality:

Confident: Growing up, Freddy had every reason to be an extremely confident young man. He was intelligent, athletic and popular. Every just seemed to go his way and the way he carried himself reflected that particular fact. He was outgoing and friendly, easy to get along with and often the center of attention. And that never bothered him. That aspect of his personality is still reflected in him, certainly when he is Captain Marvel Jr. He never lacks for confidence and indeed, is sometimes overconfident in himself and his abilities to his detriment. It has been known to get him into trouble before and undoubtedly will do so again. Indeed, of all the Marvels he is the most likely to leap into a situation without really knowing or understanding it. Of course, as Freddy Freeman his confidence has taken a hit since being crippled by Captain Nazi and he is only slowly regaining his old personality.

Loyal: Despite the fact that Freddy sometimes comes off as if he's a little wrapped up in himself, he is a good friend and extremely loyal to those that he cares about. If anything, his experiences since becoming Captain Marvel Jr. have only reinforced those traits. When he was injured, all those 'friends' who had surrounded him when he was the high school sports star faded away, leaving him far more aware of just what real friendship meant. He might not have the sheer number of friends that he used to, but those that he does have, he prizes and would do just about anything for. Even his periodic feuds with Billy doesn't change the fact that he knows just how much he owes him and his sister.

Intelligent: It is something that is easy to miss considering how impulsive and even reckless Freddy sometimes comes of as. But the fact of the matter is that Freddy is an extremely intelligent young man. He was always an excellent student in school, regularly getting A's in his various classes. So it's not the fact that he's stupid that tends to lead him into trouble so much as the fact that he tends to be overconfident and that in turn causes him to do things that, upon further reflection, he might wish he hadn't. He is anything but the prototypical 'jock' and anyone who mistakes him for such is badly underestimating him. Ultimately, what Freddy needs most is a little seasoning and time to mature.

Temper: If it isn't Freddy's confidence -- some might say overconfidence or even arrogance -- getting him into trouble, it is probably his temper. A great number of his difficulties can be laid at the feet of his tendency to get angry and lose any real sense of reason. Certainly, the mere mention or sight of Captain Nazi can set Freddy off and perhaps that is not entirely unwarranted. Afterall, he is responsible for his grandfather's death. Still, his complete unwillingness to listen to reason on that score has caused him more then a few troubles. Likewise, it is his temper that tends to get the best of him in his friendship with Billy as well. There are just some issues on which the two set each other off and neither one is terribly interested in being rational, at least not until a certain amount of time has passed.

Insecurities: Before the incident with Captain Nazi that necessitated Billy and Mary sharing their powers with him, Freddy was a pretty well adjusted individual, especially for a teen. Certainly the lingering pain of his parents death obviously had some effect on him, but it wasn't all encompassing certainly. But since becoming part of the Marvel 'Family', Freddy has had to face a pair of issues that have caused more then a little trouble for him. Firstly is the fact that when he isn't Captain Marvel Jr., Freddy Freeman needs a cane to walk. Where once he was a star athlete and extremely popular teen, he is now lame and only has a small circle of close friends. It is something he is more then a little conscious of. There is also some issues in dealing with his superhero identity. While it was completely unintentional, Mary choosing to name him Captain Marvel Jr. caused a few problems for Freddy. He was used to being the star. He was the star player on his high school baseball team and indeed, some would say the only real star, and being second to one of his friends for a change was no easy thing to adjust to even if that adjustment was really only needed in his own mind.

Outgoing: While he might have grown a little more reserved since being crippled by Captain Nazi, at least as Freddy Freeman, he is still very much a good natured, easygoing individual who has little difficulty in interacting with others. He is not the same person he was when he was the star of his high school baseball team and most popular kid and he certainly doesn't look to be the center of attention any more -- once again, at least as Freddy -- but he doesn't shy away from human contact either. Indeed, in many respects he is probably a better person and certainly easier to like now then before. When he can get over some of his self-consciousness about his injuries he shows that same bright, open personality that drew people to him before, without some of the confidence-bordering-on-arrogance that was sometimes common to him earlier.

Courageous: Considering that one of the endowments from the mystical power of Shazam is the Courage of Achilles, it is no surprise that Freddy could be considered brave. But even without the endowment of special powers, he is gifted with his own sort of courage. It has not been an easy matter to cope with all the changes in his life. He has no real family left and while Billy, Mary and their adoptive parents have been more then welcoming to him, it isn't quite the same. And through all that he has managed to persevere, even thrive. That is no small feat. Likewise, when it comes to something that genuinely matters, like his friends, Freddy isn't the sort to back off readily, with or without his abilities.

Independent: There is a broad streak of independence in Freddy. It is the side of him that likes to do his own thing and most definitely does not like being told what he can do. There is a lot of stubbornness that is a part of it and when he feels that he is being cramped or pushed around, he tends to get rather, well, touchy. It is something that is common to most teenagers as they make their transition to adulthood and Freddy is no different in that particular respect.

Magic awareness:Freddy's powers are derived from the wizard Shazam and as such are mystical in nature. As such, he is more in-tune with the use of those magical energies by others, particularly when he is in his Captain Marvel Jr. persona. It is far from being accurate as some sort of tracking device or the like. Instead, it is easier to think of it as a compass, a more general guide that can point the way at times. It is not flawless and certainly skilled mystics might be overlooked, but he can generally sense and home in on strong uses of magical forces.

Flight:One of his most valuable abilities, as Captain Marvel Jr. Freddy is capable of flight, indeed, of attaining rather high speeds. It is part of his gift from the Speed of Mercury and it allows him to travel several times the speed of sound, crossing North America in a matter of minutes instead of hours. It falls well short of the speed of light however, and the speeds that the very fastest individuals can attain, but it serves Freddy well enough, making travel between Fawcett City and other locals a rather simple matter for him.

Invulnerability:Another of his core abilities, when Freddy is in his alter ego of Captain Marvel Jr. he is extremely resistant to harm of any sort. Indeed, he is very nearly invulnerable to all physical harm, at least in a lasting sense. Of course, when the power of Shazam is being shared, his invulnerability is decreased likewise and he is significantly easier to injure. Still, even when the power is being split three ways he isn't going to be hurt from someone shooting at him, his skin is resistant to being cut and he can survive powerful explosions while only being dazed. Obviously, it is the sort of thing that comes in handy for a superhero who throws himself in harm's way.

Transformation:The transformation that turns Freddy Freeman into CM3 is magical in nature, summoning a bolt of lightning from the sky which strikes him and imbues him with the power. He uses the words 'Captain Marvel!' to make this transition because his abilities were granted to him by Billy and Mary. Still, he calls upon the same pool of power that they do, which in turn comes from the wizard Shazam. Like for the other two, his powers reflect the name of their mentor with each letter of the wizard's name representing one aspect of the magic. As such, when he speaks his magic words, Freddy is granted the Wisdon of Solomon, the Strength of Hercules, the Stamina of Atlas, the Power of Zeus, the Courage of Achilles and the Speed of Mercury.

The lightning bolt that gives him his power can only affect him -- at least under any normal circumstances -- though anyone holding onto him or who he is touching can be harmed by the electricity of the bolt.

Wisdom of Solomon:Perhaps one of the less appreciated or at least less flashy endowments from the wizard Shazam, the Wisdom of Solomon is nevertheless perhaps one of the most critical. Granted, obviously, in reference to the ancient ruler who was legendary for his intellect and wisdom, this gift allows Freddy to function far beyond his years and essentially enables him to perform as a hero. It is what gives him insights which he would not otherwise have, gives him his phenomenal memory for details, allows him access to obscure knowledge and information on all matter of subjects, but particularly those relating to history. It also gives Freddy a notion of proper tactics, or what allows him knowledge of how to use weapons that Freddy Freeman would never have touched in his life. It is one of the most valuable of his abilities, even if, truth be told, he probably makes the worst use out of it, hampered by his impetuous nature.

Strength of Hercules:Obviously one of the most visible and useful of his abilities, the Strength of Hercules is obviously what gives Freddy his great physical might when in his Captain Marvel Jr. persona. Named in obvious reference to the demi-god Hercules of Greek and Roman mythology, this is what allows Freddy to lift great weights with ease, or throw punches that can cave in brick walls. He can twist a crowbar or a steel girder into a pretzel with ease. He can lift up cars, tanks or various aircraft above his head without any great strain. He can rip lampposts out of the ground and wield them like clubs as if they were ordinary wooden baseball bats. Ultimately, he can lift in excess of one hundred thousand tons with a great deal of effort which puts him in range of the world's strongest entities, though still well shy of heroes such as Superman. Of course, these upper levels descend rapidly when all three of the Marvels are calling upon the power at the same time.

As well, it is the magical nature of his strength that allows him to defy certain physical laws, enabling his to lift up a battleship without having it snap in two because of the great stresses, for example.

Stamina of Atlas:It is from Atlas, the legendary figure of Greek mythology who bore the world on his shoulders, that Freddy receives his phenomenal stamina, endurance, and invulnerability when in his CM3 identity. Already an exceptional athlete, at least before his injury at the hands of Captain Nazi, this gift takes Freddy to an entirely new level. He can operate at peek efficiency, without rest or food for a solid day before beginning to grow fatigued. He can race across the world, on foot or through the skies, circling the globe without getting winded. That is the sort of stamina that he has.

His resistance to injury is likewise impressive. When the power of Shazam isn't being split, he can take blows that would destroy a brick wall with ease. He can shrug off high-powered shells from tank turrets. It takes blows of astounding force to truly hurt him. He is likewise far more resistant to such discomforts like those caused by heat or cold. Neither the coldest arctic day nor the hottest sun in the middle of a desert can phase him. It would take the heat of molten rock or the cold of outer space to even really effect him. And even then he could resist the effects for much longer then any normal individual could hope to do so. In short, it takes a great deal of effort to harm him, at full power.

Power of Zeus:It is from Zeus, the foremost god of Greek mythology especially noted for his use of lightning bolts as weapons, from whom Freddy receives the power to change from the ordinary Freddy Freeman to the amazing Captain Marvel Jr. With it he can summon a lightning bolt from the sky, no matter how devoid of cloud cover, and become his heroic alter ego. This lightning strike can potentially harm others if he is in contact with them at the time. It is also from this gift that Freddy receives his resistance to any sort of electrical attacks, at least any short of that of a lightning bolt at any rate.

Courage of Achilles:Another of the more subtle gifts from the wizard Shazam, Freddy boasts the Courage of Achilles when functioning as Captain Marvel Jr. Achilles is of course the all but invulnerable warrior of Greek mythology who was legendary for his prowess and bravery on the field of battle. He had an indomitable will and was unstoppable until his single weakness was finally revealed and used against him to bring him low. Those same traits live on in Captain Marvel Jr. however. Freddy is gifted with a phenomenal sense of courage that makes him all but immune to fear, either the natural sort or any abilities that might inspire it through other means. Likewise, he is gifted with a powerful sense of will that provides a certain amount of resistance to mental attacks. It's not enough to protect him against a truly well trained telepath, but it helps.

Speed of Mercury:Named after the mythological Roman god of messengers and speed, Mercury, Freddy has access to speeds in the sky and on the ground far in excess of what the everyday, average individual could hope to achieve. He can cross the North American continent in mere minutes at top speed and can circumnavigate the globe in under an hour. He can out race bullets and follow their progress, before catching them. Nor is his speed limited to just flight. It is possible to parlay some of that speed into his actions on the ground, performing feats too fast for the casual eye to follow. As part of this gift, his senses are likewise enhanced to cope with the different perspective that such speeds require. Ultimately however he is not anywhere near as fast as speedsters like the Flash. He can shatter the speed of sound many times over, but does not approach breaking the speed of light barrier. Still, it serves him well enough.

POWERS:

Obscure Knowledge: Always a bright kid with a keen intellect, since Billy and Mary bestowed a part of their power on him, he has been exposed to an entirely different world, one beyond the purview of the vast majority of people. There is a distinctly mystical note around much of what they do as the Marvels and as such, Freddy has learned a great deal about that world that few others get to see. It is all part and parcel of his new life and being gifted with the Wisdom of Solomon.

Photographic Memory: Another part of the intellectual gifts that are bestowed by the Wisdom of Solomon is the fact that Freddy now has a near perfect photographic memory in his alternate form as Captain Marvel Jr. He has a keen eye for detail and an ability to store information away, pulling it out when he needs it and putting it to use then. While certainly not as flashy as some of the other abilities that he has gained since becoming one of the Marvels, there is no denying its usefulness

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Brawling: Make no mistake, Freddy does not have any formal training as a fighter. Before becoming Captain Marvel Jr., his largest fights were largely contained to the typical schoolyard scuffles that are common to young boys. Of course, Freddy always had the physical gifts to dominate such affairs, being quick and strong, with exceptional reflexes. As Freddy, he is obviously limited now by the injuries he has sustained, but as CM3, those old gifts are only amplified making him more then capable of holding his own against almost any opponent. Of course, when it takes someone like the Flash to make Freddy look slow and clumsy and only heavyweights like Superman and Martian Manhunter clearly outstrip him strength-wise, that can come as no surprise.

Melee weapons: Obviously Freddy Freeman didn't really need to do much combat with weapons in his old life, well, at least nothing except the striking of a baseball with a baseball bat. Still, his love of baseball has given him a certain familiarity on who to handle such weapons, along with the necessary skill in wielding such devices. His lack of formal training is made up for in large part to his own natural gifts, and of course, the power and knowledge imbued in him by Shazam. He is not really the sort to use real weapons, though should he have to take up a sword, spear or the like he could undoubtedly acquit himself well.

Thrown weapons: Before his life as Captain Marvel Jr., about the only thrown weapon that Freddy was likely to have to use was a baseball. Of course, he was particularly exceptional with that and his talent in that regard continues to be of great use to him. These days of course he is more likely to use heavy pieces of debris against some costume villain, but the same principles apply. He has plenty of strength and all the hand-eye coordination that he needs to hit even a small target nine times out of ten. He rarely misses what he aims for and has full confidence in his abilities in that regard.

DISADVANTAGES:

Arcane Lore:While Freddy's powers are magical in nature, he does not cast spells or the like. They are a magical endowment. Still, it is obviously a subject of some interest to him. He has become fairly well versed in ancient mythology and mystical threats that seem quite common for him and the other Marvels. It is certainly not the sort of knowledge that helps much in regular day to day life, but then Freddy doesn't exactly lead a typical, daily existence for the most part.

Athletics:Freddy Freeman was once the star athlete for the Binder School, racking up awards and prestige with ease. He stood head and shoulders above most other teens in the city, especially in baseball where he was an outstanding pitcher and offensive star at the plate for his high school team. He was blessed with plenty of athletic ability, being in outstanding condition. A strong runner and equally good in the water, it is quite likely that Freddy could have earned an athletic scholarship to the college of his choice if fate hadn't intervened. Unfortunately it did, and his injuries at the hands of Captain Nazi have left him lame. That limits his athletic abilities a great deal in his normal form. In his alternate identity of Captain Marvel Jr. however, such is not the case and with the speed and strength granted to him is an even more amazing athlete. He is strong, fast, with exceptional reflexes and the amazing hand-eye coordination and accuracy he developed playing baseball for years.

Charismatic:Before his life was changed by Captain Nazi's attack, Freddy Freeman was easily the most popular kid in his school, being intelligent, good looking and a top athlete. Unsurprisingly, he always had an easy going way about him that appealed to others. He always was full of confidence and certain in his own abilities, no matter what and all those things remain true as Captain Marvel Jr. He has lost some of that easy confidence as Freddy, but at heart remains the same teen he was before.

Computers:Freddy isn't someone who spends a great deal of time with computers. He isn't going to be able to hack other systems or even write computer programs. His knowledge is relatively basic. At the very least he can operate a computer and utilize it and the various programs without any difficulty. If something goes wrong, he probably can even figure out what the problem might be. But that's about the extent of his abilities. Computers are valuable tools, but not of much greater interest to the teen.

Driving:While away from Fawcett City Freddy earned his driver's license. Of course, immediately upon his return he was involved in a serious car accident along with Billy and Mary. Still, it was not his fault and the fact remains that he is perfectly capable of driving a car. There is nothing particularly impressive in his ability and he is not especially more capable of doing so then the average teenager. Still, it's more then a lot of his friends can do. Likewise, Freddy knows how to pilot a boat, having taken frequent fishing trips with his grandfather and having grown up in a small fishing village. His abilities there are probably more impressive. While no expert, he certainly outshines his average peers out on the water.

Scholar:It is something that is easily missed considering how good an athlete Freddy Freeman was, but the fact remains that he is a very bright individual and was one of the better students at his high school, excelling in all his subjects. Nothing has changed since then. As Freddy, he is as well versed in a variety of subjects, at the level of a particularly bright high school student or even university student. He is no genius to be certain nor the top student in his class, but he is up there. Of course, as Captain Marvel Jr. he has the Wisdom of Solomon to call upon.

EQUIPMENT

EQUIPMENT:

Newsstand: Part of his inheritance from his grandfather is the newsstand that the man ran to support himself and Freddy. It wasn't much, but it provided them enough to get by. Unfortunately, Freddy is a great deal younger and more inexperienced then his grandfather, with school to worry about and an entire other identity as Captain Marvel Jr. to occupy his time as well. As such, Freddy can't exactly devote his entire time to running the stand. Still, it provides enough for him to get by -- barely -- and not a great deal more.

Inheritance: It isn't a great deal, but his grandfather's death did leave Freddy with some resources to look after himself, including a 1957 Chevy Belair in exceptional condition that was the prize of his inheritance until he drove it off a cliff at the hands of Chain Lightning. Still, Freddy has some emergency funds to fall back on to live on, but for the most part has tried not to touch it. Afterall, he still has college in his future and that is not a cheap expense to look forward to.

Rock of Eternity: Home to Shazam, the head of their little 'family', the Rock of Eternity is a mystical site that contains the Seven Deadly Enemies of Man and the Three Faces of Evil. It can be accessed through a sealed off part of the Fawcett City tunnels and while it is not somewhere that Freddy has reason to go to often, he can reach it in the same way as the other Marvels. Through it, it is possible to access other worlds such as New Genesis, entirely different dimensions and even time itself. Obviously it is not the sort of resource to be used frivolously.

Transportation: Please list your characters general civilian means of transportation here.

CONTACTS

CONTACTS:

Justice league task force: More recently, Freddy was approached by J'onn J'onzz, the Martian Manhunter and invited to join the Justice League Task Force, an offshoot of the actual League meant to help train younger and more inexperienced heroes while giving the League some additional firepower in the eventuality that they should need some additional help. Freddy even lead the team briefly. As such, he is familiar with the membership, having forged a few bonds with them and would certainly leap to their aid should they ask for it.

Dr. caitlin rousso: A doctor at the S.T.A.R. Labs facility in New York City, Caitlin Rousso befriended Freddy after he brought Chain Lightning to them to seek treatment. In addition to treating many of the meta-human patience her labs deals with on a regular basis, Caitlin oversaw Freddy's rehabilitation and thus knows about his dual identity. She also provided him with a place to live while he was staying in New York. She was a good friend when he needed one the most and he wouldn't hesitate in helping her should she need it. Likewise, she provides him with a source, albeit a fairly minor one, within S.T.A.R. Labs.

Superhero community: While Freddy's decision to leave Fawcett City was made impulsively and done as much as anything else to simply run away from his problems, it did serve a greater good in the long run. It exposed him to the larger superhero community beyond that small city. As such he has met, and become known to most of the prominent heroes currently active, giving him some advantage of credibility and familiarity when dealing with his peers. Of course, it also means that they are probably a little more aware of his shortcomings as well.

RELATIVES:

Mary bromfield:Billy's sister, Freddy has carried a bit of a torch for Mary pretty much from the first time he met her. Something that doesn't please her brother in the least and has led to more then a few arguments between the two boys. And while Mary has made it abundantly clear on numerous occasions that she doesn't appreciate them fighting over her, it is still something that occasionally crops up in their dynamic, though fortunately far less then it used to. Like Billy, Mary chose to bring Freddy into their circle and grant him use of some of their powers to help save his life and that is something that the teen won't forget and can not repay. Even when he has been having his periodic feuds with Billy, he has always managed to get along with Mary. She was there for him when he was in the hospital, when all his other 'friends' had forgotten about him and every time since when he's needed her. Like with Billy, he would leap to her aid without a second thought, irregardless of the help she might need.

Billy batson: Under other circumstances, Billy and Freddy could undoubtedly have been the best of friends. Indeed, they hit it off naturally from their first meeting. But as things stand they are both more and less then that. They share an undeniable bond. Afterall, Billy and his sister Mary saved his life and bestowed upon him a part of their power, letting him become first Captain Marvel Jr. and more recently, CM3. They have fought a variety of menaces together and both know that when it truly counts, they can rely on one another to do whatever is necessary for the other. And of course they both share a great love of baseball. All the ingredients are there for a great friendship. So what's the problem then? In a word, Mary. Freddy hasn't exactly been shy about making his feelings for Mary known in the past and Billy most definitely does not approve. He can't forget the easy way Freddy got along with the girls at his high school before he was so badly injured by Captain Nazi and is naturally protective of his sister. As a result, the pair have had more then a few disagreements in the past. Still, ultimately, they are good friends who can count on one another even if Freddy sometimes feels restricted by his perceived underling status.

Shazam: In a technical sense, Shazam is only the mentor to Billy and Mary, not himself. His powers are derived from them, not from the wizard as is demonstrated by the difference in the magic word that triggers his powers, and the fact that he could continue to change forms while Billy and Mary could not when Shazam was abducted into Hades. Still, the ancient wizard and his home in the Rock of Eternity is the central figure in their little extended family and Freddy is very much a part of that. If the wizard needed aid, Freddy would rush to help however he could of course, and should he need advice or help, chances are there would be a ready ear waiting for him.

Marvel family: Freddy is well known to the others in the immediate circle of family and friends that make up the extended Marvel 'Family'. He has worked with each of them in the past and would undoubtedly rush to their aid should they require it in the future. The same likewise holds true for them in turn. Most of them are not the good friends that Billy and Mary are to be sure, but he is on good terms with Dudley, Tawky Tawny, Ibis and the rest of the heroic figures that make Fawcett City their home. Likewise, the same holds true for Mr. and Mrs. Bromfield who are aware that he is CM3, in the same way they are aware about the truth of their adopted children.

ENEMIES:

Like most super powered types, Freddy has managed to make his fair share of enemies. He is a recognizable part of the Marvel Family and therefore has inherited the enmity of the same people that Billy and Mary must deal with. Threats like Dr. Sivana, Mr. Mind, Blaze, Satanus, and (though obviously not recently) Black Adam are constant concerns for him. Of course, Fawcett City has other lesser threats to beware of as well in individuals such as IBAC so there is no lack of individuals to guard against.

Captain Nazi: There is no foe whom Freddy opposes more then Captain Nazi. This costumed leftover from World War Two has left Freddy lame and is responsible for his grandfather's death. Freddy can not forgive or forget. Indeed, he tends to lose all reason when confronted by this particular foe and their battles are vicious indeed

Chain Lightning: TChain Lightning is a threat he dealt with upon first arriving in New York City, after leaving Fawcett City. A lightning-based meta-human with multiple personalities, she developed a crush on CM3 and when her feelings were not returned, she seriously injured Freddy, Mary and Billy.

Sabbac: TTimothy Karnes was Freddy's foster brother for years while growing up and while the pair were extremely close, Freddy's grandfather could not care for both boys after the death of their parents. As such, Timothy was shuffled back into the system to be forgotten and abused, something that he evidently holds against Freddy now that he has become Sabbac.

HISTORY

Feeling guilt, Captain Marvel carried the injured boy to Shazam, who unfortunately informed him and Mary Marvel that he was unable to help the boy, and said that it was "not in my power." The two took the boy back to the hospital. A short time later, Captain Nazi arrived in his room to finish the deed, however Mary Marvel had been watching over the boy, and thus was close by to intervene.

After a short kidnapping that lasted hardly a few minutes, Captain Marvel once again saved the boy from Captain Nazi, and Mary Marvel took him back to Shazam. She had figured out what the wizard had meant. When Captain Marvel returns, he and Mary share their power with Freddy, healing him (mostly), and giving him access to the power of Shazam. When he woke and saw his hero above him, he said in slight awe, "Captain Marvel!" That then became the word he'd forever use to access the power and become Captain Marvel Jr., as Mary Marvel named him.

After some adventures in the team, Freddy went to Metropolis for a time. He was exploring the city as Captain Marvel Jr. when he ran into the first Robin and Aqualad. Feeling a slight kinship with them, he joins them as they travel through the city and had several small adventures before going their separate ways.

A while later, after some other adventures, a villain named Morpheus decided to target Captain Marvel Junior. The villain gives the boy a series of darker and more frightening nightmares that eventually forces him to face his worst fears. He manages to face them and win out, escaping the evil influence, but in the process learns he needs to escape from the shadow of Captain Marvel. Thus, he renamed himself CM3, and returned to Metropolis.
