Divided

Too many cooks ruin the soup, or so it's been said. With similar premise in mind, when too many minds try to make a unified decision, they risk the problem of running out of time or reaching no decision. In a combat or disaster situation, especially, time is of the essence, and a conflicted mind may lead to physical injury to herself or to any of her comrades.

Headstrong

In her neutral (and undivided body), Luornu is at best a headstrong person. She shows incredible resolve in the face of adversity. She has a natural instinct for conflict, and she will push back against any force that tries to contain or subvert her. To this end, she has made herself into a powerful political and business opponent, a personality trait she uses to the utmost effect in the service of Brande Industries.

Obstinate

For her violet triplicate only, Luornu maintains an obstinate personality. Unwilling to take orders from anyone, lest it benefits herself, her cause, and/or affords her some sense of honor. She always believes she is in the right and will do everything in her power to prove that point -- especially to the point of not admitting her errors.

Clear-headed

In her combined body and in her neutral triplicate, Luornu operates under a very clear-head. Examining a situation from all possible angles, she believes that the best answer can be derived. The perfect balance between her other selves, this triplicate personality serves to take the arguments of the others and reach a more concise answer to any and all problems.

Conflicted

Luornu, being of three separate and distinct minds, tends to be divided on any difficult issues that are placed before her. While the choice itself is not typically the issue, the approach taken to said choice can lead to problems when her triplicates begin to argue amongst themselves. Therefore, for many truly paramount decisions, Luornu is known to pull herself back together to avoid the disagreements.

Shy

For the orange-garbed triplicate, Luornu has a shy, reserved personality. This persona will often push for the safe alternative in any decision, but she will never be forceful about her suggestion. Oftentimes, the suggestion will be made once and then dropped if the violet triplicate becomes too forceful. Also, this persona is more prone to peaceful alternative, prefering to avoid conflict when possible. However, this does not mean that she is willing to be pushed over if there are no other choices than to fight.

Familial

Because of her close relationship with her grandmother and later with R.J. Brande, Luornu has developed a sense of family that is a bit non-traditional. Yet, this sense of family remains a strong focus in her life. It is the drive for many of her convictions, and she will stand fast beside anyone with whom she shares this relationship. Also, because of this sense of family, she prefers to remain in her separated form as much as possible, further fostering the divergent personalities of her triplicates. In fact, the three forms move and act more like sisters than pieces of the same being.

Devout

The people of Cargg are by nature a religious people, devoted to their beliefs in the Valorist principles. Luornu has studied her fair share of the beliefs, and coming into the Legion, she celebrated those beliefs privately. However, upon meeting M'Onel and realizing him for what he was, she now finds herself conflicted, trying to resolve issues of belief structure against the reality of the man that religion is based on. And part of that is also resolving her personal feelings for the man.

Reserved

Due to her innate shyness in the orange triplicate, Luornu tends to hold back on her opinions, preferring instead to defer to the wisdoms of others. However, if she feels that she is in the right, she will try to convince one of her "sisters" to raise her opinion for her, knowing that they will carry it in a stronger voice than she could muster.

Strategist

If nothing more, Luornu's divided personality allows her to examine any given situation from multiple angles at the same time. With this added perception, she is able to better formulate a strategy by which to handle a situation. While the divided personalities may lead to argument, she can usually help to coordinate on an effective level -- particularly when multiple tasks are needing a hands-on approach.

Steadfast

Luornu, in all three of her personalities, refuses to give-up. If she believes she -- or someone she supports -- is in the right, she will go to every legal length to ensure that they are proven in-the-right. In the most recent example of this, she is fighting the McCauley administration tooth-and-nail to ensure the continued future of Brande Industries, a cause she could no sooner let go than the love she feels for the patron of that organization.

Flirtatious

In her violet persona, and partially in her conjoined persona, Luornu is a flirtatious person. Never above using her influence with the opposite sex to win herself favor, she takes special care to give attention those men who interest her most -- primarily M'Onel and Chuck Taine

Telepathy-self: Due to the nature of her Carggite abilities, Triad maintains a mental link with each of her other-selves when split, enabling her to gain from their emotional states as well as knowledge of their well-being. She is also able to use this ability to track her selves, although this situation becomes less-and-less possible as the selves get further and further apart. Damage taken to one of the triplicates is immediately known (but not 'felt') by the others, resulting in the ability to come to that triplicate's aid. Because of this mental and physical link, it is believed that death for all three bodies would follow if one was to perish.

Triplication: A limited form of Self-Replication, Triad can spontaneously split herself into three exact copies of herself. The new bodies are, while semi-independent are identical to the original form which they split in every way and manner; each possessing an independent mind but all are linked telepathically so three bodies are aware of each other's actions and can work in unison. Each Replicant possesses the same skills, powers and abilities as the original, except for the ability to replicate further (that is, no Replicant could generate more Replicants).

Acrobatics: Gymnastic movement. Triad can tumble, swing from ropes, walk across thin beams, and leap through windows. She reduce the difficulty when trying to lessen damage from falls and dodging attacks, if She have sufficient room to move acrobatically. (+1R to Dex)

Assessment: Triad can tell the difficulty of many tasks and judge the abilities of others. If She take a full exchange to analyze a person or task, She can learn the difficulty of a task or one ability or intensity score about an individual. (+1R to Int)

Climbing: Scaling vertical surfaces. Triad can reduce the difficulty when resisting wind and acrophobia while scaling buildings, trees, cliffs, and other vertical challenges. ( +2R Str)

Combat Style (Tri-Jitsu): While similar to most other Martial Arts, Tri-Jitsu allows Triad to work in unison with their replicants to take advantage of their combined Agility instead of using their individual Strength ranks when attacking. She can also reduce the difficulty to reduce damage from falling. If She doesn't attack, She can reduce the difficulty rating to catch any thrown object She can lift, negating impact damage. Additionally, for every post which states they are studying a target, they can increase their dexterity rank for said attack by +1 (+1R to Dex, +R per Declared round of observation on a specific target)

Combat Style (Streetfighting): This skill lets Triad use the environment to there advantage when involved in combat situations. If She reduces a foe to 0 body this way, the foe goes comatose. These actions (bites, eye gouges, kidney punches, and so on) are generally frowned upon in heroic circles. (+1R to Dex, Str +2R dam)

Computers (Usage): The skill of being efficient when using a computer. She can operate apple computers, write scripts, and effectively waste hours a day on the internet. Disguise: Making self look like someone or something else. (+1R to Dex)

Driving: Piloting any landbound vehicle, from a motorcycle to an eighteen-wheeler. (+1R to Dex)

Piloting: Working knowledge of most 20th century aircraft. Even in a small spaceship, Triad have an intuitive understanding of which flashing light is the accelerator and which is the brake. (+1R to Dex)

Politics: The art of oration and political strategy. Triad can reduce the difficulty to influence others toward views. This skill aids in dealing with the complexities of bureaucracy. ( +1R Will)

Stealth: The art and science of avoiding detection. Triad is awareness of their body, of their body's movements and most importantly of it's limits. This understanding allows them to move with the utmost care and silence, and also to freeze stock-still in a concealing shadow when necessary in an effort to avoid detection. Streetwise: The art of living and surviving on the mean streets. Triad knows how to handle themselves on the streets and when dealing with low lifes and undesirables. She knows who to or not to approach, how to identify gang signs, etc.

Teaching: The art of passing wisdom on to others. If another character is interested in using a response bonus to gain a skill, a teacher who knows that skill can help the character justify the gaining of the skill. ( +1R Will)

Weapon Style (Blunt): Anything from a blackjack to a hammer to a club and even a telephone pole, assuming She can lift it, Triad can use it as an effective weapon. She can reduce the difficulty when throwing the club or staff. (+1R to Dex, Str +2R dam)

Weapon Style (Boomerang): Small objects which are thrown to inflict damage and then somehow return to the thrower's hand (boomerangs, chakram, etc.). With this skill She can catch boomerangs without fear of damage. (+1R to Dex)

HISTORY

The inhabitants of the planet Cargg have the ability to split themselves into three separate people. That is to say, they can utilize three different bodies...should those three bodies display different personalities, the Carggite public considers this a sign of trouble, and such was the situation of Luornu Durgo.

The fate of such aberrations is usually a psychiatric hospital, and Luornu might have been sent to one in early childhood if not for the intervention of her grandmother Murlu, who was very similar, but who knew to be discreet about it. After the departure of Luornu's father and the death of her mother, Murlu became Luornu's guardian and encouraged her personality differences, explaining to Luornu that this was the way all Carggites should actually be, but that sometime in Cargg's past, the message was lost. Once her grandmother died, though, Luornu was in fact sent to a mental hospital, and spent several months in complete misery. Her three seldom-agreeing personalities...one shy and reserved, one outgoing and flirtatious, and one headstrong and clear-headed...agreed on the need to escape. They slipped away from the grounds of the hospital and into the only available shelter, an open spaceship. Fortunately for Luornu, this spaceship belonged to United Planets founding father R. J. Brande.

Brande gave her a job and a healthy environment, and pulled some strings to have himself legally named her guardian. Even when her past became revealed to him, his protective feelings for her didn't diminish in the least...in fact, they increased. Eventually, she became his most valued assistant, and it was she who he had contact the three founding members of the soon-to-be Legion of Super-Heroes. Shortly thereafter, she saved the life of Brande and the President of the United Planets during the White Triangle's attempted bombing of the UP headquarters building, and then joined the LoSH herself, as its Carggite representative, Triad.
